Return on Prevention - Investing in health programmes for business travellers and international assignees.

"Return on Prevention" is the title of a new study by Prevent, which was commissioned by the International SOS Foundation. 

Contracteranto

In several sectors working with contractors, communication is not always without problems. Foreign employees often do not understand instructions because they do not know the language. 

Evaluation of European directives on safety and health at work

On behalf of the European Commission, and in conjunction with two German partners, KOOP and TNS Infratest, Prevent is developing a methodology for the evaluation of European OSH directives, applicable to all member states.

Occupational health and safety strategy in Luxembourg

In preparation for the development of a health and safety strategy in Luxembourg, Prevent evaluated the policy and activities of the Labour Inspectorate and the existing forms of collaboration with and between the prevention partners.

THESEIS

THESEIS is a European research project that developed, tested and disseminated an innovative training model in the field of employee health and safety in the green industry. The project’s focus is on the waste processing sector.

Support@Work

Prevent is collaborating as a partner in the Support@Work project, which gives victims of traffic accidents support with retaining or looking for work.

Prevention Lab 2.0

This project is developing PreventionLab, a learning platform on psychosocial risks at work.

Evaluation of the Belgian safety and health strategy 2008-2012

On behalf of the Federal Public Service for Employment, Work and Social Dialogue, Prevent is evaluating the national strategy on well-being at work 2008-2012.

Serious Safety Game

The Serious Safety Game aims to reinforce the knowledge and skills of young people in the logistical sector with regard to safe and healthy working, using new learning methods.

Toolboxlab – Encouraging/reviving toolbox meetings on construction sites

Toolboxlab is developing a free four-day training programme (incl. online platform), which in the first phase will be tested out in the Belgian construction sector. On the basis of this, the training will then be rolled out in Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey.

Risk analysis in the hairdressing sector: obstacles and online tool

On behalf of the Federal Public Service for Employment, Work and Social Dialogue, Prevent has developed an online risk analysis tool for the hairdressing sector. 

Research project on the benefits of OSH

Prevent conducted a two-year study into the costs and benefits of work safety and health.

Hesapro

Prevent collaborates as a partner in a European Leonardo Da Vinci partnership project aimed at the exhange of knowledge on the impact of safety and health at work on productivity (Health and Safety at Work and Productivity HesaPro).

HIRES Public

Since 2008, the European Commission has been involved in research into the impact of restructurings in companies on workers’ welfare. It has set up three successive projects, for which Prevent is the Belgian partner: Hires (Health in Restructuring), Hires Plus and Hires Public.

 

Collection and analysis of case studies on a 'whole-school approach'

The project identifies good practice examples of a whole-school approach and illustrates them by means of testimonials and interviews.

State of the art review on social innovation and OSH performance

Prevent collaborated on a report on all existing policy strategies and practice examples within Europe for encouraging and increasing social innovation at work and hence the quality of work. 

Motivation for promoting health

Literature research concentrated on finding reasons, arguments and motivation of employers and employees to invest in health promotion. 

State of the art on safety culture assessment

Various strategies and methods exist for measuring and analysing an organisation’s occupational safety and health culture. The project’s goal was to collect all such existing strategies and methods.

Ygeia in Kallikratis

Prevent is a partner in the European research project that studies the effects of the larg-scale restructuring of the local governments in Greece (Kallikratis) on the health of the employees.
