| | Information  Prevent maps the information and knowledge requirements of different target groups and provides specific information via online databases and a documentation centre. The institute also has a Working Life Service Centre and a multimedia centre.
Working Life Service Centre
The Working Life Service Centre was set up in 2008. It houses a network of experts in the wide field of safety. They look for answers to technical and legal questions regarding safety and offer personalised advice to PreventAssist subscribers. A selection of the questions and answers is available on the PreventForum, on the website www.prevent.be/p/preventforum.

Documentation centre
The documentation centre provides support to the Working Life Service Centre. The centre also catalogues new legislation and publications relating to well-being at work. The result is an extensive database that can be consulted locally and on the internet.
The centre is freely accessible by appointment and the documents can be consulted and borrowed. PreventAssist subscribers are sent the information.
New software
In 2009 the new software, SmartLibrary, that manages the bibliographic database PreventDoc, became operational. The database can be consulted on a customer level, for example via the Prevent website.
Catalogue of final reports
The references of the final reports of the students of Lucina Opleidingen are added to the SmartLibrary bibliographic database so that they can be retrieved by the name of the author, title, keyword and abstract.
Multimedia centre
In 2009 Prevent further updated the audiovisual resources collection with the aim of broadening the range of DVD’s and to broach specific subjects. The collection was enriched with 26 new DVD titles. A DVD catalogue was created and can be consulted on the Prevent website.
On October 9th Prevent organised a multimedia day for industrial accident insurers. The latest acquisitions to the media library were presented on this day (CD-ROM’s and DVD’s).
A committee of representatives of industrial accident insurers advises the media library on the purchase of new DVD’s and other audiovisual aids.
