Institute for Occupational Safety and Health  Prevent is a multidisciplinary institute which seeks to minimise occupational risks by promoting the quality of working conditions and by improving work organisation. The institute is active in research and supports, advises and informs companies and institutions, as well as workplace-accident insurance companies, external occupational prevention and protection services, professional associations, the social partners, authorities and other players in society. Prevent is ISO 9001 certified. The quality of the products and services is continually evaluated and adjusted if necessary. Firstly by our own experts, but also external specialists, editorial committees and steering committees support the products and services through every stage of their lifecycle.

The products and services offered are not only built on a firm basis, but also have an important practical relevance. Customers and partners can also switch to tailor-made solutions. Prevent responds to a maximum to the specific needs of its partners and customers.
Up to date
The most recent information and developments are monitored, interpreted and processed by experts on a daily basis. This information and knowledge is immediately incorporated into the various products and services.
Networks & partnerships
As an institute, Prevent maintains many contacts with networks and partners in Belgium, Luxembourg, Europe and the rest of the world. The Public Affairs team develops action plans for specific target groups and stakeholders. It also communicates with the outside world through newsletters and press releases.

| Monitoring Central to Prevent's monitoring activities are projects in which measurements are done. On the one hand these are projects in which the measurements themselves are done using certain analytical existing or self-developed instruments. On the other hand these are projects in which existing data collections are used as a basis for the analysis. The monitoring projects are the basis for a Belgian Risk Observatory on Well-being at Work. | Publications Prevent develops many information products and services. The institute provides information on news and relevant subjects via websites, e-zines and journals and web-based tools. It develops research publications and practical guidelines in the form of checklists and other (electronic) tools. | Studies and research The studies and research activities of Prevent primarily relate to the collection of all relevant and current knowledge on occupational risks and the prevention of industrial accidents and work-related health problems in Belgium and abroad.
